Overview

This article describes the configuration changes related to the Summer ’26 Release Notes. The article also includes 2 prerequisite changes that need to be made before your org can be upgraded to Summer '26.  Required entries must be completed before using the associated features. Optional entries enable new settings that are off by default.

⚠️ In order to upgrade your org to Summer '26, the following configurations are required:

Ramp Integration

Ramp Software Correction Configurations

Ramp Version 0.15.0-1:

  • Bills not syncing due to Payable Line Description field's 255 character limit being overrun:

1. Install the new Ramp build ASRamp 0.15.0-1.
2. On the Payable Line page layout, add the new field 'Ramp Description'.
3. Re-run the sync.

 

  • Vendor sync prevented due to Account object field permissions:

1. Install the new Ramp build ASRamp 0.15.0-1.
2. After install, re-assign the Ramp Admin permission set to the user running the sync.
3. Re-run the sync.

Salesforce Hosted MCP Support

AR Prepayments

  • Prerequisites: Summer '26 and you must have the Accounting Seed Sola or Stripe integration set up.
  • Review AR Prepayments Setup.

Financial Reports Hub: Report Folders Sharing (optional)

If you would like to implement Salesforce sharing for Report Folders, follow these steps to set this up in your org:

  1. Set the Report Folders object to Private.
  2. Create the Report Folders (which in turn create the report folder records).
  3. Find the Report Folder records and share them with the users who should have access to the reports stored in those folders.

Financial Reports Hub: AS Hub User Permissions (recommended)

Note: The 'AS Hub' out of the box permission set has permissions to Accounting Seed classes, objects, etc. Since the permissions below are for the Account object (standard Salesforce object), create a custom permission set and add the permissions below to it.  Then assign the custom permission set to the AS Hub user.  

The Accounting Seed Hub user should have Read access to the following fields on the Account object:

  • Id
  • Name
  • Type
  • Industry
  • BillingState
  • BillingCountry
  • AcctSeed__Accounting_Type__c
  • AcctSeed__Accounting_Active__c

AR: Apply Credit Memo Balance to a Cash Receipt

The following steps help you configure a separate "Credit Memos Applied" related list on the Cash Receipt page to track the Billing Cash Receipt amounts moved/added from a Credit Memo to a Cash Receipt.  On upgrade orgs, the Credit Memos Applied related list does not appear by default on the Cash Receipt lightning record page. Complete the following steps to add and configure it.

  1. Navigate to the Cash Receipt lightning record page and open it in Lightning App Builder (Setup > Lightning App Builder, or use the Edit Page option from the page).
  2. In the Components panel, search for Dynamic Related List - Single and drag it onto the page.
  3. In the component properties panel, set the Related List field to Billings Applied To. If prompted, click Upgrade Now.
  4. Change the Related List Label to Credit Memos Applied.
  5. Leave all other defaults as-is (Items per page: 10; Columns: Billing, Line, Date, BCR, Period, Amount, Adjustment).
  6. Under Filters, click Add Filter. Set the field to Billing Type, operator Equals, value Credit Memo. Click Done.
  7. Select the existing Billings Applied To related list on the page. Click Add Filter. Set the field to Billing Type, operator Equals, value Invoice. Click Done.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Return to the Cash Receipt record page and confirm that the Credit Memos Applied list displays credit memo BCRs and the existing list displays invoice BCRs separately.

AR: Cash Receipt Apply: Line-Level Billing Application

Line-level apply is available to all ledger types (Accrual, Accrual & Cash, and Cash).

  • Accrual ledgers: No configuration required. Line-level apply is available immediately.
  • Cash and Accrual & Cash ledgers: Users must update the Cash Application Method in Enablements to Manual.

Cash Basis Ledgers: Set Cash Application Method to Manual

  1. Navigate to Enablements and select the edit icon.
  2. Under Cash Basis > Cash Application Method for applying Cash Receipts to Billing Lines, select Manual.

Note: The default setting is Proportional Distribution. Switching to Manual is required to access line-level apply; leaving it on the default will prevent line-level apply from being available.

Optional Configuration for all Ledger Types

Field Sets

For all Ledger types, if you want to use line-level apply, configure the following field sets:

  1. Go to Setup > Object Manager > Billing Line
  2. Click Field Sets
  3. Select the field sets listed below and add/remove fields as needed.
  • Billing Line Apply: specifies the fields (columns) displayed in the Billing Lines view on the Cash Receipt Apply screen.
  • Billing Line Search: specifies the fields searched when using the Billing Line Search Term field on the Cash Receipt Apply screen.

Optional configuration (Cash Basis or Accrual Ledgers):

Page Layout Updates

Update the Billing Cash Receipt page layout to include the Billing Line field

  1.  From Setup > Object Manager > search for and click on Billing Cash Receipt.
  2. Click on Page Layouts > select AR Cash Receipt Layout or your page layout if using a different one.
  3. Drag the Billing Line field and place (recommended) below the Billing field, then click Save.

Add the BCR related list to the Billing Lines page layout:

  1. From Setup > Object Manager > search for and click on Billing Lines
  2. Click on Page Layouts > select Project Billing Line Layout or your page layout if using a different one.
  3. Click Related Lists then drag the Billing Cash Receipt related list and drop it below the Transactions related list. Save.

Update the Cash Receipt page layout to include the Billing Line field in the Billings Applied To related list:

  1. From Setup > Object Manager > search for and click on Cash Receipt.
  2. Click on Page Layouts > select Cash Receipt Layout or your page layout if using a different one.
  3. Click Related Lists, scroll down to the Billings Applied To related list and click the wrench icon.
  4. From the Available Fields list, select and move Billing Cash Receipt: Billing Line and to the Selected Fields list, then click Save.

AR: Master Billing

PDF Email Status Field

  1. From Setup > Object Manager, search for the Master Billing object.
  2. Click Fields and Relationships.
  3. Click the PDF Email Status field.
  4. Under Values, edit Unsent and check the box Make this value the default for the master picklist.
  5. Click Save.

Master Billing ‘All’ List View Columns (Optional)

Update the Master Billing list view to add additional fields as columns.

  1. From the Master Billing object, select the list view All from the drop-down.
  2. In the List View Controls, select Select Fields to Display.
  3. Under Available Fields, add: Master Billing Number, Customer, Date, Total, Balance, PDF Email Status, Posting Status.
  4. Click Save.

AR: Adjust Balance on Cash Receipt

Follow the Apply Cash Receipts article for steps to assign the permission set and  then adjust a Cash Receipt balance.

Default Master Billing Format

Optional

You can now set a default PDF format for Master Billings on your Ledger record or the Multi Ledger Defaults page. Once set, the PDF format defaults from the Ledger automatically when a new Master Billing is created.

Add the Default Master Billing Format field to your Ledger record:

  1. From Setup > Object Manager, find the Ledger object.
  2. Click Page Layouts and select the page layout in use. The out of the box layout is called Ledger Layout.
  3. Drag the Default Master Billing Format field to the Default PDF Formats section, below the Billing Outstanding Statement Format field.
  4. Click Save.

Populate the Default Master Billing Format field:

Option A — If you have one Ledger:

  1. From Accounting Home > Setup menu > under Ledgers, click Ledgers to open the list view.
  2. Click the Ledger you want to update.
  3. Edit the Default Master Billing Format field, select your PDF format, and click Save.

Option B — If you have multiple Ledgers:

  1. From Accounting Home > Setup menu > under Configurations, click Multi Ledger Defaults.
  2. Click the pencil icon to edit, then select your PDF format in the Default Master Billing Format column for each ledger.
  3. Click Save.

AP: Payable Line Help Text (Optional)

  1. From Setup > Object Manager, search for the Payable Line object.
  2. Click Fields and Relationships.
  3. Click the Invoice Comment field.
  4. Click Edit, replace the existing text in the Help Text field with: “Used to record comments on payable line items.”
  5. Click Save.

Accounting Dashboard

This is an optional configuration for orgs that are running up against the Salesforce dynamic dashboard limit of 5.

To update the Accounting Dashboard to View Dashboard As: Me:

  1. From the App launcher search for Dashboards
  2. Click All Dashboards and then click on the "Accounting" one.
  3. Click the gear icon above the Dashboard to the right.
  4. In the View Dashboard As section, select the Me radio button.
  5. Click Save.

New Permission Sets

Note: These out of the box permission sets have permissions to Accounting Seed classes, objects, etc. If the feature being configured requires permissions to standard Salesforce objects (this would be listed in that feature's configuration article), you would need to create a custom permission set to add them.  This is because Salesforce does not permit packaging standard Salesforce permissions with our out of the box permission sets.

AS Hub Authorization

Optional but recommended for organizations using Financial Reports Hub, AP Automation, and Invoice Automation.

Assign this permission set to the Salesforce user designated to authorize the Accounting Seed Hub connected app. This permission set is required before Hub authorization can be completed. Assign in addition to existing Accounting Seed permission sets.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Users.
  2. Open the user record for the Hub authorization user.
  3. Under Permission Set Assignments, click Edit Assignments.
  4. Select AS Hub Authorization and click Add.
  5. Click Save.

AS Invoice Automation User

Optional but recommended for organizations using Invoice Automation.

Assign this permission set to all users who will process or manage automated invoices using Invoice Automation. Assign in addition to existing Accounting Seed permission sets.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Users.
  2. Open the user record for each invoice automation user.
  3. Under Permission Set Assignments, click Edit Assignments.
  4. Select AS Invoice Automation User and click Add.
  5. Click Save.

Cash Receipt Balance Adjustment Edit

Optional. Assign this permission set to users who need to adjust remaining balances on Cash Receipts.

This permission set grants edit access to the Balance Adjustment field on the Cash Receipt object. It is not assigned to any user by default. A best practice is to assign this temporarily when adjustments are needed and unassign it once complete.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Users.
  2. Open the user record for the user who needs to make balance adjustments.
  3. Under Permission Set Assignments, click Edit Assignments.
  4. Select Cash Receipt Balance Adjustment Edit and click Add.
  5. Click Save.

Paid Payment Status on $0 Payables

Optional

By default, Payables with a total of $0 are automatically set to a Payment Status of Paid when posted. If your organization requires that a $0 Payable also have at least one AP Disbursement applied before moving to Paid status, enable the AP Disbursement Required setting:

  1. Navigate to Accounting Home > Setup menu > under Configurations, click Enablements.
  2. Click the pencil icon to edit.
  3. Under Paid Payment Status on $0 Payables, enable the AP Disbursement Required toggle.
  4. Click Save.

Disable Bank Account Defaulting on Pay Screens

Optional

When this setting is enabled, the Bank GL Account field no longer auto-populates on the Payable Pay and Pay Batch screens. Users must explicitly select a Bank GL Account each time.

  1. Navigate to Accounting Home > Setup menu > under Configurations, click Enablements.
  2. Click the pencil icon to edit.
  3. Under Bank Account Defaulting on Pay screens, enable the Disable Bank Account Defaulting toggle.
  4. Click Save.

Reduce Auto Email Batch Size

Optional

If the Billing PDFs you email are large (e.g. 2–3 MB due to embedded images in a custom VF page), consider lowering the value in the Automated Email Billing Batch Size field on Enablements:

  1. Navigate to Accounting Home > Setup menu > under Configurations, click Enablements.
  2. Click the pencil icon to edit.
  3. Under Automated Email Billing, set the Automated Email Billing Batch Size to a lower number than 40.
  4. Click Save.
